Hi
George,
Made
it back to the “Sunny Carolinas” ok…ran the a/c in the motel the whole time we
were there, first thing I did when I got home was to light the wood
stove….that was Friday and I’ve still got it going. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again for putting up with Ralph and myself for a couple days there and putting us on fish like you did. Way up here we read about the SM and FP13 and daydream about getting down there some day…but it’s still called “fishing” and not “catching” …there’s nothing can be done about weather and cold fronts…you did an outstanding job putting us on fish like you did when they were trying to take the day off! Thanks!
While fishing, I asked you what made for a long day regarding clients … well, there’s a few things that can make for a long day for the client regarding the guide too. Ralph & I have been fishing together for almost 20 years and have hired a few guides during that time…. just wanted to tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed your company and being in your boat. You made us feel right at home. We’ve had guides that I couldn’t WAIT for the day to end….you do a very good job and you do it in a pleasurable, professional manner. Thanks to you, we had a great time and the fishing was good too.
Hope
to be back sooner than later,
John Robbins

George, Thanks so much for the trip. Chuck, Jessica and I had a ball.
I've been bass fishing over 35 years and that 8 pounder was my lifetime big fish. You did a great job with the tough wind. I hope to get out with you a couple times a year. How does Thanksgiving week look for you? Also that bird that looks like a coot with a red bill. I'm fairly sure it's a moorhen. If you get close enough, check to see if the red bill has a yellowtip. Thanks again and good fishing Eddie
George,
Hello George!
You probably don't remember me because of the number of clients you have had but
I went out with you July 11 of 2004. My friend and I were the ones that drove
all the way from Valdosta, GA and drove back the same day. I'm currently
deployed to Iraq and I'm lucky enough to have internet access...which I use to
check the Stick Marsh reports every day! When I get back in March you can bet
I'll be coming to see you! I just wanted to share my perspective concerning your
reports...I think that you may not realize what you are doing for someone who is
so far from home. Everyday I face the prospect of dying over here, and I accept
that...I am proud to serve my country and proud to be here. Bass fishing is my
passion, and when things relax and I have time to myself I think of nothing
else. Your reports let me know that the things I cherish (second only to my
wife) have not changed and they give me something to look forward to...a reward
at the finish line, so to speak. It allows me to get lost in my future plans of
big Stick Marsh bass and the stress melts away. Some people might ask how bass
fishing can consume somebody the way it has consumed me, but right now, here in
this place, it is an important tie to my home and normalcy. I don't think THAT
is too hard to understand. I wanted you to know that besides your snowbird
audience and local bass fishermen, there are other people reading your reports
for different reasons, and I hope that you continue to have success in showing
your clients a good time (and continue to write the reports about it!). Good
luck and tight lines...I'll be seeing you soon!

Me and my buddy, Sam Curless, just came back from our second annual trip with
these fine folks. Scott is great and tolerates all of our competitive BS and
smack-talking and he does what it takes to get us into fish. Sam got me this
year with a 9 pounder on day one and a 7 and 1/2 on day two. He keeps the
coveted hat hook for a year, but I'll get him next year!

George/Scott,
Gordon & I had a great trip. We enjoyed fishing with
Scott very much. I was really pleased with the quality of the bass
under the tough weather conditions.
I thought all details of the trip were handled well, and
I especially like the feature where you can down load the trip pictures
as soon as you get home.
George be sure to forward this e-mail to Scott, since I
don't have his address.
Thanks again,
Ron Fodor
Dear Scott,
I just wanted
to send you a quick note to say THANK YOU again for all your efforts and
hard work to make our trip a pleasure!!
The first day
shiner-fishing, I know you really worked hard to make Donnie, his wife
Jackie, and myself feel very welcomed and at home. Your patience for all
of our "missed hook-sets" was greatly appreciated!! We plan on returning
as soon as possible; We truly had a wonderful experience!
To any that may
read this~ Look no further than here at Imagination Bassin guide
service!! It is like fishing with your neighbor!!

Just a great experience!!

Top water Madness at the Stick Marsh
Posted by: Russ Bassdozer <Russ@Bassdozer.com> (216.77.205.56)
Hello!
It is Russ Bassdozer here with George & Scott Welcome, my friends who are guides on the fabled Florida Stick Marsh. It is a fantastic fishery here.
Yesterday, we had a wide open top water bite on Storm Chug Bugs (the 3/8 oz size). The top water action lasted ten hours. We had 80-100 good bass on the Chug Bugs. Best of the day was George's 7.5 pounder (see photo), plus numerous 4-5-6 pound bass.
Today was also great fishing with 60 more bass up to 5.5 lbs. The catch today was split approximately 60% Chug Bugs and 40% Senkos.
Every cast has the potential to produce a 10 to 15 pound bass, and we did have some huge bass explode on the top waters the last two days, but did not hook them...yet. Tomorrow may be the day! We will keep you posted of our results on the Stick Marsh tomorrow. Hopefully, we'll have a picture of a 10 or 15 pound Stick Marsh mammoth to show you.

Drove down to Stick Marsh last Monday to fish all week. Wife flying in Tuesday night.
Grabbed 4 dozen shiners and a license from Palm Bay outfitters and away I went to wet a hook and test the waters for wife's trips the rest of the week.
Bumped my way down the dusty road and dumped the ol' barge into the water and away I went. Beautiful day. Gee...what more could you ask for but one of those 80 fish days you read about. (Especially with only 4 dozen shiners.)
Well...wasn't to happen. Faded my bobbers for a while in the sun...and only caught my 1 obligatory pickerel.
Whilst sitting there...I watched a guy trolling around looking for sunken boats or something. Don't remember him wetting a hook. He traced the outline of the location I was at for a good 30 minutes.
Got bored with 'fishing' (I'm using that term loosely)...and loaded up my rods. Struck up a conversation with the gentleman while loading up. After a couple of minutes...he pointed me into a new direction. He sat there with me and gave me some detailed tips.
That shiner was not in the water longer than 10-15 seconds before it was sucked under from the surface. The next one no more than 30 seconds. And so it went on and on and on. It was so fast and furious...I had to make a couple of cell phone calls and let my wife and buddies hear the shiner hit the water...and bass come out seconds later. The rest of my shiners didn't last more than another hour.
The gentleman sat there for another ten minutes carrying on a conversation with me. All points of wisdom and experience. He was finding out where the fish were at for upcoming trips. Especially with the weather change coming. He wanted to make sure his clients were going to be satisfied.
Saw him with clients on Friday. They loaded bass the entire time we were there. He was courteous and humorous the entire time...while peppering his discussion with bits of wisdom.
You can surely gauge a man by what he delivers when you pay him...but I think there is a much more indelible mark left by what he gives for free. Thanks for the tip on last Tuesday George. You made our fishing trip more memorable than any we have ever had. We had several of those BFHP Stick Marsh fishing report days you read about. thanks to the tips you provided.
I almost feel guilty about not paying you. Almost! (lol) Surely we owe you a free dinner next time we're in town. But truly...thanks for making our trip fantastic. I'm sure you put your clients on those types of holes every day and make them just as memorable.
George Welcome From: dgreever (65.164.92.59), Virginia

Hey Don...Your reply shows Georgia where a reply of yours on another thread showed Indiana! The law looking for you? Didn't know being a terrible fisherman was a crime! I'm another that George helps regularly without me paying! Guess I'll have to consult with Santa. George is #1!

Hey Bruce. I afraid that I'm about as adept on the puter as I am on the water. Can't do anything right. I am currently in Georgia. I MISS THE STICK MARSH!!!!!!!

Thought I might second those thoughts on George.. He is one helluva guy.. Now Donnie what are you doing in Georgia pray tell.. snourse@tampabay.rr.com
George,
Wanted to touch bases and say thanks for the great trip. Ted and I both had a good time thawing out in the warm Florida sunshine and getting a chance to stretch a line. Thanks for your assistance in making it a very successful trip. If you ever need a reference up here in New England, feel free to give out my contact information. Hope to fish with you again soon. Frank Weeks - Weeks, Frank C, SOLCM [fweeks@att.com]
Hi George and Scott, John and I want to thank you for the great time we had last week! Weather, company and fishing was unbelievable! Bob and Marcie couldn't stop talking about the entire day. Of course, they had to remind us how many fish they caught! You truly made our day on the lake wonderful. We hope to call upon you again for another fine time. Next time, I'll pay better attention to your advise and try to catch more fish!
Best regards,
